Masters of The Universe was released in theaters on June 5th, 2026. Directed by Travis Knight, The Masters of the Universe is a live action movie adaptation of the franchise known as Masters of the Universe by the Mattel entertainment company. After its first announcement in 2009, multiple director and cast changes, the movie was finally brought to life by Amazon MGM Studios. The film features plenty of funny moments and lots of action scenes.
Master of the Universe is a sci-fi movie based around “He-Man,” the young prince of Eternia. Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, is forced out of his planet after it is attacked by Skeletor, played by Jared Leto, an evil warlock who is after the sword of power. Adam is sent to Earth with the sword to protect it, and is ordered to return to Eternia when he is ready to fight Skeletor. After arriving on Earth, he lost the sword and spent years trying to get it back to return to his home. Once he found the sword it sent a signal back to Eternia and he was rescued by Teela and they returned to Eternia. Once there he realised Eternia was destroyed by Skeletor, so he used the power of the sword to gain super strength and fight back against Skeletor with the rest of the heroes of Eternia who were still alive.
The movie contains plenty of comedic moments and jokes throughout the whole movie. It was entertaining to see how other people from Earth would react to Adam talking about his childhood on a different planet. Other comedic scenes include when Adam finally returns home and tells the other heroes the nicknames he has made for them. There were also other awkward moments that were quite hilarious between Adam and Teela, his childhood friend where he believed they were having a romantic moment but she was just being kind.
Overall Masters of the Universe is an enjoyable movie. It features comical action and ridiculous scenes. The cinematography was also very good considering it’s a kids movie. I highly recommend this movie to anyone. It is very enjoyable to watch with the whole family and it keeps the audience engaged the whole time.
