A month and a half into the new school year, The Preuss School UC San Diego has welcomed a new staff member hired over the summer, Mrs. Wirszyla. She serves as both a middle school P.E. instructor and girls volleyball head coach.
“I love teaching P.E. and I especially love teaching my 6th graders. They are so energetic and are ready for anything I give them everyday!” said Patricia Wirszyla.
Mrs. Wirszyla also mentioned that she is delighted with the opportunity to have a new 6th grade advisory class. She highly looks forward to her students growing as human beings and scholars over the next seven years.
Middle school students have enjoyed Mrs. Wirszyla as a P.E instructor.
“Mrs. Wirszyla has made my P.E class so much fun. Every B day I look forward to going to her P.E class. She makes it seem like it only lasts ten minutes,” said Abdurashiid Ahmed (‘31).
Not only is she the new middle school P.E. teacher, but she also took the job of becoming the new head coach for the girls volleyball team.
“ I have been coaching for over twenty-two years and I feel very honored to coach the girls volleyball teams at Preuss. All of the girls have been very welcoming and have been working hard. I am excited for our league play to start,” stated Mrs. Wirsylza.
With Mrs. Wirszyla’s positive attitude and years of experience, she is already making a difference at Preuss, motivating students to stay active, believe in themselves, and bring their best both in P.E. and on the volleyball court.
