Mr. Kim Named “Outstanding Innovator”

The California Charter Schools Association and the North County Education Foundation recently recognized Mr. Kim with a 2021 Charter Star Award for “Outstanding Innovator,” on May 14th. Mr. Kim has been working on improving technology even before the pandemic struck and his increased efforts during remote learning led to a nomination by Director Helen V. Griffith.

“My goal has always been to expand learning to happen not just in the classroom, but at home or wherever students are,” said Mr. Kim, in his interview with the La Jolla Light. He has been working diligently to give our Preuss students access to the technology needed for remote learning.

Mr. Kim and his team have been coordinating with various groups in order to receive funding for devices as well as internet access. This has not been an easy process and with the school year coming to an end it is important that we take the time to acknowledge all the Preuss teachers and staff that made remote learning possible, starting with our distinguished teacher and coordinator, Mr Kim.
