Preuss Community Falls Victim to Excessive Rainfall

On Monday, January 22, 2024, the weather caught all of us off guard. It rained extremely hard, nearly four inches in just a few hours for the majority of the day, leaving people soaked and distressed.

This wet day was extremely chaotic and stressful for many, especially for the individuals who take public transportation as their way back home. Several trolley lines such as the MTS Orange, Blue, and Green Lines, were damaged and flooded, causing them to go out of service temporarily.

“The rain affected my day to day routine. I usually take the Orange Line after getting off of the Blue Line, but I couldn’t. I ended up having to get picked up by my parents,” reported Beza Andualem (25).

There is much more expected rainfall this upcoming week. Students are advised to monitor the weather reports and their means of transit as there may be more trolley delays.
