Will Padres Make the Playoffs?

Nathanael "Nate" Coria Lopez, Podcaster

The 2022 San Diego Padres season has been a rollercoaster of a season with ups and downs, such as the acquisitions of Juan Soto, Josh Hader, Brandon Drury, Nick Martinez, and Robert Suarez, to frustrating performances, inconsistency, and the 80 game suspension of superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. The fighting Friars will have a difficult remainder of the schedule to finish the 2022 season. One question lies above the head of everyone: will the Padres make the playoffs or collapse for the second year in a row?

With sixteen games left in the regular season as of September 21st, and only two games ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers for the final wild card, the Padres have 2 weeks to show whether or not they make the playoffs. The Padres have just won three of four in a four game series against the Diamondbacks. They returned home to face the Cardinals; then they will face three games in Coors Stadium against the Colorado Rockies. Then they will be back home for a final homestand against the Dodgers in three; the Whitesox in three; and a final series against the San Francisco Giants. With the Brewers hot on their tail, these two weeks will determine a successful season or a total failure.
