Angelina Abdelrahman, who is in Dr. Weber’s advisory class, has always been an outstanding student at Preuss. She has chosen to attend UCSD and will major in Mathematics. She has been at Preuss for the last 7 years and has finally made it to graduation. Congratulations, Angelina!
To learn more about Angelina I’ve asked her a few questions:
Q- What are you most excited about in the upcoming years?
A- “I am most excited to have more freedom and to be able to choose the classes that I want to be in. I’m also ready to join new clubs because UCSD has a lot of options. The most intriguing club would have to be the Arab Association Club because I’ve never been in an organization like that. Because I’m Middle Eastern, I want to connect with other Arabs.”
Q- What advice would you give to incoming seniors?
A- “Be on top of all your work, especially in senior research!!! Make sure to not only do the bare minimum but above that because senior year is hard there is a lot of pressure and your grades mean a lot. The classes you take in your senior year can guarantee you walk at graduation, so try your best.”
Q- Tell me about your proudest moment.
A- “My proudest moment at Preuss would be creating the TSU-NAMI club. I’m really glad that there’s a club on campus that helps struggling students and ensures they don’t feel alone. Another proud moment I have is just simply being able to graduate. I’ve done and been through so much these last 7 years and I’m just really happy to graduate.”
Q- “What will you miss most about Preuss and high school?
A- “I will mainly miss the students and the teachers the most at Preuss. I got close to my advisory class and all of my teachers. And I think it will be very sad to leave, especially because they have been a big part of my life since middle school.”
Q- What motivated you throughout high school?
A- “My sister. My sister is a very big supporter of mine and she’s always been there for me. She’s always encouraged me to do my best and to make sure that my mental health always comes first.”
Q- What’s something you would do differently?
A- “Something I would have done differently is I would have joined ASB earlier instead of only taking one year. I loved being a part of that class and I love the people in that class and I wish I would’ve spent more time with that class. I also learned a lot in that course.”
Q- What opportunities at Preuss do you think are underrated and that everyone should take advantage of?
A- “AP classes. A lot of people complain about taking AP classes, but they are really helpful. They help you get ready for college and they give you a lot of credit to help you to graduate.”
