From the moment my mom informed me I was going to attend Preuss, I knew it would be a big change in environment. Little did I know that attending this school would determine my future, and shape me into the person I am today. This school has given me many opportunities, of which I’ve taken advantage of.
Before coming to this school, I had very little knowledge of what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and till this day, I’m not entirely sure of what’s coming in my future. But my experiences and lessons have helped me decide on where and what I want to study. This school has also taught me to interact and work together with my peers and community around me.
Thanks to this school, I will be able to be the first in my family to attend a four year university with fully paid tuition. Ever since I entered this school, I knew that was my main end goal and it makes me happy that, thanks to this school, I achieved it. I am going to attend California State University, San Marcos, and major in Sociology. Although it has been hard getting to this point, in the end all hard work always paid off. I’m excited to start a new chapter in my life, and if it weren’t for Preuss and all the opportunities it presented me, I wouldn’t be in the path I am now.
Throughout the years, I’ve made wonderful friends along the way, whom I’ve created long lasting memories. One of my favorite memories of my high school years was being a part of the yearbook class. Towards the end of freshman year, I decided to apply for the yearbook class after one of my older cousins recommended it. Some time after, I was accepted and spent my sophomore and junior years being a part of it. In my first year I was a part of the business committee, and in my second year I was chosen to become the business editor of the yearbook class. I’ve always been interested in sales, advertising, and marketing, and being part of the business committee allowed me to spend time doing what I love.
As time has passed, and the more time I spend at school, the more I learn and become a better individual. Some advice I would give to younger students would be to always work hard because no matter what, in the end it will always pay off, even if you don’t see the results right away. I would also say to do things for yourself and not those around you, and to always prioritize yourself.
At this point in my life, I am thankful for all of the help and support I’ve obtained in this school. It’s shaped me into a better person and helped me fulfill my dream of attending a four year university.
