Mandated School Uniforms Ignored

When school returned virtually for Fall semester, school uniforms and having cameras on during class were declared mandatory for online classes.

Although teachers established requirements for students to wear uniforms and to remain on camera, it is increasingly evident that most students are unwilling to do either.

Preuss teacher Mrs. Mak reported, “I wish more students turned on their cameras. Zoom can feel really lonely when only a couple people are showing their faces, I still haven’t seen any of my new 6th graders.”

Many teachers have opted to accept active participation and contribution instead of seeing their students on camera and many students appreciate the adaptation.

High school student Justin Soto (‘22) states, “I don’t think it’s necessary to have the cameras on as long as you’re paying attention to class and you’re staying focused.”
