Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway stars Elizabeth Debicki, Lennie James, Margot Robbie, James Corden plays Peter Rabbit, and Sia, and Australian singer and songwriter, Sia who plays Mrs. Tiggy Winkle. The producers announced that the movie would be scheduled for April 3rd, 2020, but it was later postponed to August 7th due to the coronavirus pandemic. It made further changes along the way. The movie will now be rescheduled to January 15th, 2021.
Will Gluck, an American film-maker and director of the movie, wanted to create a sequel for the Peter Rabbit movie. He has directed many known films such as Annie (2014), Fired Up (2009), and Friends with Benefits (2011). The plot of the first movie features Peter Rabbit and his three sisters, spending their days in Mr. McGregor’s vegetable garden. One of the members of Mr. McGregor decided to visit, only to find a family of rabbits in his garden. There were battles against him and Peter Rabbit, but in the end, the rabbit was a trustful friend.
Gluck had later worked on the script for the second Peter Rabbit movie. The plot of the story, drafted by him and his crew members, reads, “Despite his efforts, Peter can’t seem to shake his reputation for mischief among the other rabbits. Once he ventured out of the garden, Peter finds himself in a world where mischief is appreciated, but soon his family comes to bring him home.”
For years, Gluck has been in love with the books and the stories of the old classic Peter Rabbit since he was very young.
“My parents read Peter Rabbit to me when I was a kid,” he said. “I loved Peter Rabbit. I started reading the books to my kids.” Gluck had thought that it would be a great idea to make a Peter Rabbit movie because nobody has ever done a film featuring these classical characters. In May of 2018, the Peter Rabbit movie was released. It was a great success.
Before the sequel was released, there were a couple of delays due to the interruption of the pandemic outbreak which interrupted the movie to be released earlier than usual. In Britain, it would be in early December and in the United States, mid-January.
Kids and families will fall in love with this smart and witty rabbit in this upcoming Peter Rabbit movie. The movie is eye-catching, sweet, funny, and family-friendly. Unlike the first movie that was filmed in Richmond and Gloucester, the Peter Rabbit 2 movie will be recorded in Centennial Park, Sydney. Although some of the scenes were shot on England’s grassy lands and rural buildings, most of them will be filmed in Australia, to have a different feel to the settings.
