This year’s grad nite for the current graduating senior class will be held at Disneyland California Adventure Park on June 13th 2025 from 9pm to 2am.
Grad nite is an all-nite event for graduating high school seniors to celebrate their accomplishments before and/or after graduation. The last senior class at Preuss that went on the grad nite trip to an amusement park was the class of ’17. This was pre-pandemic, so for eight years Preuss hasn’t planned another grad nite for previous senior classes up until this year.
“Grad nite was always a PTA event and that’s usually how most schools handle grad nite. I think it’s because school’s don’t want to take responsibility for any craziness that might happen that day,” stated journalism teacher Ms. Garcia.
The seniors will be leaving campus at 5 pm with the Preuss buses and arrive back to Preuss by 5 am. The seniors classes will be separated into three buses along with the teachers who will be chaperoning the trip. The chaperones are Dr. Weber, Dr. Bandy, Ms. Greco, Mr. Hua, Ms. Garcia, and Ms. Cortez.
“When we were planning grad nite, we had to take in account getting the buses for students to get there and and from Preuss and the cost of three buses which was 5k,” mentioned Jenisha Semexant (‘25).
This event has a very high attendance rate even going back to Preuss’s last grad nite. Some of the only reasons a student wouldn’t be attending this event is if they’re failing any classes, won’t be walking the stage at commencement, or don’t have a desire to go.
“This is the most participated event and the students paid the money for the tickets out of their pockets to go, and throughout my time here at Preuss there hasn’t been another event that has gotten this much class participation from the entire grade,” affirmed Jensisha Semexant (‘25).
