The ASB Executive Board for upcoming school year has some very dedicated and hardworking members: Kaelynn Wang (‘26) as ASB President, Jazmine Nguyen (‘26) as ASB Vice President, Mia Gidey (‘26) as ASB Secretary and lastly Samani Ismail (‘26) as Treasurer. This strong elected team has big plans for next school year and are confident in their abilities and skills to take on these leadership roles.
“I’m really close to Mr. Carr, and he encouraged me to join ASB in 10th grade. Not only join but he kind of pushed me to run for class president,” shares Wang (‘26).
Although Wang needed an extra push of encouragement to build up the courage to run for this role, she had great leadership skills which will benefit the way she plans to communicate effectively with the rest of her team as well the school community.

Wang believes she is a good listener who is willing to listen to everybody. She believes she works well with everyone and will also work well with Jazmine Nguyen (‘26) as they both have good team working skills.
“I believe that I already have good teamwork skills, but this experience will help me learn new things and make me think in ways that I’ve possibly never thought about before, so I’m ready to be challenged and learn from this position,” says Nguyen (‘26).
Nguyen is determined and ready to take on this big responsibility of being Vice President and balancing this role with her own personal life.
“I believe that I’ve created a good cycle for myself and have built up a good time management and organization skills. i’m” states Nguyen (‘26) as she shares she is confident on balancing this responsibility with her own educational responsibilities.
Nguyen (‘26) brings in leadership skills to the team as well as Gidey (‘26) does. She believes she is a great listener, knows she is an excellent multi-tasker, and great note taker.
“I’m very quick at writing, I can multitask too… also I am a really good communicator, so I feel like I’m able to connect with a teacher, admin and I already have good bonds with admin which is a good thing,” says Gidey (‘26).
Gidey (‘26) not only has strong bonds within admin and can communicate with the administration efficiently but can also communicate effectively within the student community.
“Some other skills I have is my positivity and my creativity, because I feel like just staying positive and being able to have the mindset that everything is possible is like what you should have when you’re trying to be in any leadership role and also creativity because you’re able to bring anything to the table, and really having open ideas for anything,” shares Gidey (‘26).
Gidey (‘26) has a strong and positive mindset to take on any challenge that she will face next school year, which is incredibly beneficial to the team.
