What is the main reason that you chose the college that you will be attending?
“I chose to attend UCSD because it gave me the best financial aid package and it gave me the opportunity to stay in the dorms, so I’ll get that independence that I need in college, and I’ll also be close to home.”
What was your biggest motivation throughout high school?
“My family was my biggest motivation because they always told me that you can’t get anywhere without education so that help me be more focused on passing all my classes so I would be able to be successful in the future.”
What do you recommend for future seniors in order for them to improve their resume/college applications?
“I recommend trying a sport and to just do anything on campus that you actually care about because if you do it just for your resume, it’s going to make you feel bad later on. You should also do something for a long period of time instead of last minute volunteering.”
What is your biggest goal for college?
“In college, a good habit I want to regularly maintain is staying a straight A student and studying the correct way because I heard that’s what you’re going to need in college and I plan on going to medical school.”
Which teacher and/or staff member had the biggest impact on you and why?
“Dr. Ensberg because he’s my advisory teacher and he’s been there for me since seventh grade and always helpful and encouraging.”
What is your favorite high school memory?
“My favorite memory from high school is the volleyball games because I’ve been on the volleyball team since freshman year, and when we were fresh out of COVID, we were losing a lot of our games, so it’s amazing to see now how the popularity and improvement grew since then.”
What is the biggest lesson you learned in high school?
“I feel like just doing the work because overall it’s not that bad and half the time you can get help on everything if you need it because that’s how you’re going to pass your classes.”
What was/is your favorite event at Preuss?
“My favorite event is Airband because I like to dance and perform and it’s also fun to see what other students can do, and it’s also a good event for the community.”
What was your biggest achievement in high school?
“I would say junior year, my biggest achievement was getting, like, all the awards, like, during the award [ceremony], I got an award for all my subjects, except for Spanish.””
What is a farewell message you have for Preuss?
“My farewell message is thank you for being sturdy, because we got through in-person, COVID, and coming back and we’re adapting to everything that’s happening, and I just love the Preuss is still evolving and I hope it continues to evolve.”
