The Senior class will host its annual talent show, known as “Airband,” on Friday, April 18th, starting at 6 PM. For this event, anyone is welcome to audition for Airband. To further participate, students may perform skits, dances, singing or lip-syncing, stand-up comedy, and magic tricks.
The deadline to audition for Airband is March 16th. To audition students need to create a video with clear visuals and audio quality, all the outfits students plan on wearing must be in the video, and any music students wish to use must be sent as a Youtube link. However, acts must not exceed four minutes.
Jenisha Semexant and the senior class of ASB have been working hard to plan this annual event.
“Currently, I am the main organizer of Airband, while also collaborating with the rest of the senior class ASB. I have been planning an airband since January, so planning it has taken around four months,” states Jenisha Semexant (‘25).
The money produced from Airband will be put towards senior funds and events as a courtesy from ASB. The majority of the money produced from the sales in Airband will be put towards the funds for Prom, ensuring that Seniors receive the prom that they want.
“Airband is the one activity that ASB and the Senior Class collaborate on as it is also the last ASB event of the year as well,” states Semexant (‘25).
One of the groups performing in Airband will be the cheer team. They are preparing something big for Airband by working on multiple dances and are trying to surpass their last performance from last year.
“We have been dedicating a lot of time and effort into the choreography and plan to keep doing the same until April 18th,” states Karina Almazan (‘27) a cheerleader participating in the performance.
Airband has already attracted the interest of many students this year to see the performances of those who wish to perform.
“I will be attending Airband to see what the cheerleaders perform and to see what act Ms. Garcia’s advisory classes has to perform in Airband as punishment for losing the Penny Wars,” states Kayleen Valdez (‘27).
As punishment for losing Penny Wars, Ms. Garcia’s advisory (Garcia’s GOATs) has to perform whatever Mr. Arias’ advisory (Arias Agents) picks for them to perform at Airband.
Students who wish to audition for Airband should submit their videos before Sunday, March 16th.
