Playing newer generation games does not have the same feel as they did ten years ago. People have poorly received many newer games and without having a sufficient amount of content that makes them worthwhile to play, it makes them a waste of time. They don’t provide the same feel and emotion as older games did, which is why older games are far better than newer games.
For example, the 2016 release of Battlefield 1 for many people has been a huge success. The game was known for its beautifully crafted campaign and storyline that kept players engaged. In contrast, the release of Battlefield 2042, the newest entry so far, has been a huge disaster. The game suffered from technical issues and countless glitches that at times made the game completely unplayable. In addition, many levels felt uninteresting that when combined with the game’s poor graphics made this game a huge disaster.
Another example of why older video games are better than newer games is because of the creativity and innovation. Minecraft 2011 for example, was such a unique idea that helped pave the way for so many other block related games such as lego avengers and blocky-craft. Furthermore, the 2008 launch of Little Big Planet incorporated a unique game mechanic that utilized the controllers themselves to control different aspects of the in-game characters. This created fun and engaging experiences that are typically not seen in newer games today.
Similarly, another popular game Roblox which came out in 2006, is an interactive online game with a variety of community driven experiences. These experiences include tycoons, obbies, escape rooms, murder mysteries, which allowed players the creative liberty and ability to create anything they wanted. Games like these are the reason why so many greatest hits in video games were released nearly a decade ago.
Overall, the countless reasons why newer games are worse than old games make it obvious which era of games to play. The creativity, gameplay, experimentation, and storylines that many older games have is something that we just don’t get anymore.
