Our girls lacrosse team finally has a permanent coach after experiencing temporary head coaches over the past five years. Throughout these years, the girls lacrosse team experienced three different coaches, and there were moments where the athletic department thought the girls lacrosse program was going to shut down.
Ms. Greco, who previously coached the girls lacrosse coach five years ago, is back and will be preparing them for their upcoming season.
“I think Ms. Greco coming back to coach the girls lacrosse team is a good thing for them since she has a lot of experience and actually played herself at UCSD when she was in college,” remarked boys lacrosse coach Mr. Brazelton.
Ms. Greco, a social studies teacher at Preuss, hasn’t been involved with the athletic department since her maternity leave five years ago.
“I’m really excited because I’ve missed being a part of athletics and there’s brand new people on the team who’ve never played before, so I’m excited to teach them and hopefully the program will continue to grow,” stated Coach Ms. Greco.
Ms. Greco has different approaches to teaching lacrosse such as helping her players get comfortable enough to play on their non-dominant side.
“I think that this year is going to be exciting since Ms. Greco is coming back to coach us and there’s also more girls this year compared to previous years since lacrosse has also grown in popularity so I’m excited for this season,” asserted Jenisha Semexant (‘25).
