Concerned because of the changes made to the U.S. the past few weeks, the Preuss administration has created a website dedicated to undocumented/ mixed-status scholar resources that students can access from the daily bulletin. The website serves as a resource for students, parents, and allies that provides general information on immigration and spreads awareness of one’s rights.
The website was created due to the rapid changes in regards to immigration. More undocumented people are at risk for deportation due to their citizenship status. More ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officers are being stationed throughout the country.
The site provides various documents from different agencies. The link also included resources from Alliance San Diego. The Preuss School is not affiliated with the organization and is using their links as a resource not an endorsement.
Students have also been given the opportunity to pick up a Wallet Card in Spanish or English from the front office that helps them navigate an encounter with ICE . It also gives information about what to do if ICE comes to their house and the right things to say to avoid further problems. A QR code placed on the Wallet Card links to an article from the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition entitled “Understand the Difference Between Judicial Warrants and ICE Warrants” for students to access.
Students, make sure to look at the bulletin and use these resources given by the school and know your rights.
