Though Black Friday is over, stores still offer discounts the following days. Black Friday brings an upbringing on customers who have anxiously waited for new deals and promotions. For over 70 years now, Black Friday shopping has become a tradition for many Americans, becoming the biggest retail day in the nation. Stores throughout the nation offer deals and cheap prices to “show” the start of the holiday season shopping. Last year there were estimated to be over 190 million shoppers, although stores all over the nation offer deals, I asked Preuss Students what they’re top 5 stores for Black Friday shopping were and here is what they said:
Best Buy
Best Buy is a consumer electronics company that was founded in 1966, in Minnesota. Ever since, it has become one of the largest electronics retailers in North America, they are known nationally to have some of the best deals during the Black Friday sales. Some of the most bought objects during the Black Friday sales are TV’s, Laptops and Phones.
Walmart
Walmart is a multinational retail corporation that was founded in 1962 in Arkansas. Ever since it was founded, it has become the biggest retailer in America and is a big grocery corporation too. On the day of “Black Friday” they provide more than a week of sales and deals so that consumers can consume. In Walmart, customers also love enjoying the deals and buying electronics too. Customers all over the world are eager to buy new electronics such as video games in high demand.
JCPenney
JCPenny is an American department store chain all throughout the nation, including Puerto Rico, founded in 1902. Although they aren’t the biggest retailer store, the company is known for having great deals during the Black Friday sales. Customers enjoy the sales and purchase goods such as perfumes, shoes and clothing for Christmas gifts.
Target
Target is a retail corporation that was founded in 1962, in Minnesota. It is the 6th biggest retailer in the US, with a 107.59 billion dollar retail sale. The company has all kinds of products, and deals, that vary from Printers to Coffee makers. Target joined the other stores that participated in the Black Friday deals in the year 2000.
Amazon
Amazon is an online corporation that has made a big impact on shopping online. It is the biggest online shopping company in the world, and although it was first founded in 1994, it has recently gained worldwide recognition. As the company expands its goods, the deals do too. Anyone can shop during the sales, and after Black Friday, the deals continue on cyber Monday.
These are five of the various other stores that participate on Black Friday, but these are considered the “favorites” by Preuss students.
