The Preuss School UC San Diego students, faculty, and staff held a retirement ceremony on Friday, April 29, 2023, for Ms. Kandy during high school lunch in celebration of more than a decade of hard work.

During the ceremony, they played music in the amphitheater, gave her farewells in different languages, and presented her with a poster along with flowers. Ms. Kandy has worked at Preuss since 2012 as the Executive Assistant/Office Supervisor.

“It’s bittersweet,” Ms Kandy said. “It’s bittersweet because I’m thinking about retiring and having all that free time but I’m going to miss you all. I’m going to miss all the students and faculty and staff that I have worked with over the years.”
