Reviewing El Nuevo Milenio Mexican Food
April 11, 2023
For this review I decided to try something a little under the radar, so I visited El Nuevo Milenio taco shop in National City.
I have passed El Nuevo Mileno many times before with it being very close to my house but had never actually stopped to eat there before. This is partly due to the outside decoration, which has not changed in the many years I have seen it there, but the long line outside the drive thru seemed like a good indicator as to the quality and taste of the food.
The overall presentation of the restaurant was lacking a bit. The restaurant’s design and ambiance was sort of dated but it was clean and the restaurant is not really focused on dining, so it was fine. The dining area has plenty of room with many booths but it was empty. I ordered my food to go. The service of the restaurant was good and quick, and the staff was friendly and professional. I was able to get my food within just a few minutes.
The item from the menu I ordered was a California burrito because it is a classic popular item that most people like and would want to get themselves. The burrito has french-fries, carne asada, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole, all wrapped in tortillas. It was a decent sized burrito and was priced at ten dollars and seventy five cents, which is about average price for a California burrito at most taco shops.
The burrito was very good with the meat and fries being well cooked and paired with the melted cheese, guacamole, and sour cream all blended together very well making for a delicious meal that was very filling. Also what else was very good was the spicy salsa verde. Customers can request their order that adds great flavor and spice if they choose to add it. But customers should ask for a lot if they’d want enough for the whole meal because the sauces come in very small containers.
Overall, I would rate the restaurant a 8/10 because of the quick service, good food, as well the menu that has plenty of options for Mexican foods like tacos, quesadillas, tortas, carne asada fries, etc, in addition to decent prices that are not very expensive. I would recommend El Nuevo Milenio to anyone who is in the area looking for some good, convenient and inexpensive Mexican food.
