The Preuss School’s Varsity Boys Soccer team won the CIF Division Five championship at University City High School against Palos Verdes High School on February 24, 2023. The final score of the game was 3-1 for Preuss.

This title win was Preuss’s first soccer CIF championship win in the history of the school. The players who scored the three goals in the effort to win were Issachar Cortez (‘24), Angel Lugo (‘24), and Dylan Gomez (‘23).

The players were very happy after the game as they were seen celebrating with their medals.

“Winning the final, and let alone playing in the final, was a big accomplishment for our team,” said Issachar Cortez (‘24). “Scoring in it only made the experience ten times better for me and also celebrating with my teammates that I shared the field with also made me happy”.
