Preuss’s National Honor Society Hosts Beach Clean-up

Earning community service hours may burden some high school students, but Preuss’ National Honor Society service committee aims to ease that burden. The committee is hosting its first community service event, a beach cleanup, at Pacific Beach on February 18, from 10 am to 3 pm.

Students are encouraged to bring their own cleanup supplies, but the club will provide trash bags and gloves if necessary. The event is open to all high schoolers who complete the Google Form, which can be found in the daily bulletin. Afterward, there will be activities held by the club and prizes will be awarded to the winners of the activities.

The club is aiming to give back to the community as well as help students obtain community service hours. The committee continues to work on future community service events and projects.

“Kids can come to get hours and come to help out their community, but most importantly, it’s to figure out that we’re stronger together than we are alone,” Dr. Weber emphasizes.
