Top Spotify Streams of 2021

Spotify Wrapped is a viral marketing campaign by Spotify. Since 2016, every year in early December the campaign allows spotify users to view a compilation of data about their activity on their platform over that past year. It also allows users to share on their social media. Spotify tracks your music for almost a whole year; it begins on January first to October thirty-first, and, after that, Spotify already has the data down and ready for your Spotify Wrapped.

Two of the most spotify streams are Bad Bunny and Olivia Rodrigo. This is Bad Bunny’s second year in a row as the most streamed artist and is now Spotify’s 2021 Wrapped with more than 9.1 billion streams this year. Olivia Rodrigo on the other hand, has the most streamed song in the world, “Drivers License” The song inspired “Saturday Night Live” which got her an invitation to the White House. The song was streamed more than 1.1 billion times, with “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” by Lil Nas X coming second.

Some of the most streamed artists globally were Bad Bunny, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, BTS, Drake, and Justin Bieber. Top five most streamed songs globally were “Driver License” by Olivia Rodrigo, “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” by Lil Nas X, “STAY” by The Kid LAROI ft. Justin Bieber, “Good 4 You” by Olivia Rodrigo, and “Levitating” by Dua Lipa ft. DaBaby. The most streamed albums globally were “SOUR” by Olivia Rodrigo, “Future Nostalgia” by Dua Lipa, “Justice” by Justin Beiber, “=” by Ed Sheeran, “Planet Her” by Doja Cat. If you’re bilingual or would go with the beat and rhythm of a song, I would recommend Bad Bunny but I would also go with the rest of these artists like Doja Cat who has a lot of good music, especially on apps like TikTok where most of her music goes viral from there. Most artist’s music gets viral from TikTok. You might listen to the beginning of a song and just wonder what song it is until you hear fifteen seconds of the song from TikTok according to CNN Entertainment.

“If 2020 was the year that flipped the world on its head, 2021 was the year that we got used to seeing things upside down.” – Spotify according to inews.
